bgcut (bgcut.openimages.app) is an AI-powered background removal service operated by Marco B., based in Spain (hereinafter "we", "us", or "bgcut"). The service uses the BiRefNet HR deep-learning model running on GPU infrastructure to remove the background from images you submit. Processing is server-side: your image is sent to our inference server, the background is removed, and the result is returned to your browser.
By purchasing a license pack or using the service you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use bgcut.
Access to the background-removal service is granted via license keys (format: BGCT-XXXX). Each key carries a number of credits:
One credit is consumed per successful background-removal operation. Credits are non-expiring — they remain on your key indefinitely until you use them. Credits are non-transferable and may not be sold, gifted, or assigned to another person. Your key works across all your devices simultaneously.
If a cut fails due to an error on our end (e.g., inference server unavailability), the credit consumed for that operation will be automatically refunded to your key.
You may use bgcut only for lawful purposes. You must not submit images that:
You must not abuse the service through automated scraping, load testing, or any use that places unreasonable demand on our infrastructure beyond normal individual use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any key we determine is being used in violation of these terms, without prior notice and without refund.
bgcut is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output will meet any particular quality standard for any given image.
The service relies on third-party GPU infrastructure (Modal Labs) whose availability we do not control. During periods of GPU unavailability the service may be slow or temporarily unreachable. We do not commit to any uptime SLA.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of bgcut shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the license pack giving rise to the claim.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You retain full ownership of any images you submit and any output images you receive. By submitting an image you grant us a transient, royalty-free licence to process it solely for the purpose of delivering the service. We do not use your images to train models or for any other purpose.
The bgcut brand, website, and underlying software are our property and may not be reproduced without permission.
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides for different forums.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of bgcut after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
